Got a call today from a client that was having problems uploading and downloading from a Windows server using Dreamweaver. Some servers and firewalls allow or block different FTP transfer types. If you can see the files on your server, but can’t upload or download try changing the transfer type. This is usually an option in your remote settings in your FTP or HTML editor. The option you want to try changing is “Active” or “Passive” as the transfer type. By changing this option Janet was able to upload her files and I got to be “The Hero of the Day.”
